• Numerous players with Oklahoma ties are in action this weekend at the Web.com Tour event in Hayward, Calif., including Will Kropp, Charlie Saxon, Taylor Moore, Blake Trimble, Josh Creel, Michael Gellerman, Abraham Ancer, Rhein Gibson and Chris Worrell. Follow all the action at www.pgatour.com.

• Max McGreevy of Edmond is tied for 26th after the first round of this week’s event on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada. He could use a big week in his pursuit of a top-five finish on that tour’s order of merit, as those in the top five earn exemptions onto the 2018 Web.com Tour. He is currently in 16th place. Former Oklahoma State star Jordan Niebrugge is in the 12th spot.
