Topgolf in Oklahoma City has fully reopened after being closed since Dec. 27 due to an ice storm that crumpled the nets and poles for the three-story driving range.
Head PGA professional Jonathan Buckley said engineers have reinforced the steel structure and also improved the system that is designed to drop the nets in the case of ice.
Buckley said the wind, which gusted up to 40 mph the night of the ice storm, was a huge contributor to the fall.
Topgolf used the interim while repairs were being made to offer additional training to employees and to clean and make improvements to the facility.
“The good news is we had closed at noon that day, so no was injured,” Buckley said. “We’re glad to be back open and looking forward to a big weekend.”
