Northeastern State holds five stroke lead over second place Saint Martin’s 

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Northeastern State women’s golf team is in first place after one day of play at the Western Washington Invitational at the par-73, 5,983-yard, Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
 
The RiverHawks shot a combined 12-over-par 304 and have a five-stroke lead over second place Saint Martin’s, who carded a 17-over 309.
 
Host Western Washington is in third place after shooting a 21-over 313. After that Northwest Nazarene checked in at fourth with a 22-over 314. Fifth place belongs to CSU-Chico State with 29-over 321.
 
Jennifer Liedes of Saint Martin’s has sole possession of first place after shooting 2-under 71. Joan Park of CSU-San Marcos is in sole possession of second at even-par 73.

True freshmen Ebba Moberg and Kelsey Lumpkin both cracked the top five and are tied for third after shooting 1-over 74. Fellow true freshman Halie Wright and senior Charter Lawson are tied for 13th after shooting 5-over 78. Junior Baylee Price is tied for 15th with a score of 6-over 79.

Tuesday’s final round is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (CST).
