CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men’s golfer Hagen Barmasse was selected to the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf South Central Regional announced Friday.
Barmasse is one of four individuals selected to the South Central Regional set to begin May 8 at Brookside Golf & Country Club in Stockton, Calif. The three-day, three-round event will conclude on Wednesday, May 10 on the 6,720 yard, par 72 course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
The native of Houston, Texas ranks 23rd in Division II in average score at 72.09 in 32 rounds played with a plus-.56 versus par average. Barmasse has shot sub-70 five times in his senior season including twice shooting 66 this season. The 2017 Heartland Conference Men’s Golfer of the Year, Barmasse became the first in program history to earn Golfer of the Year honors. He picked up his second All-Heartland Conference recognition as he was named to the First Team for 2016-17.
Barmasse, a fifth-year senior for the Hillcats, becomes the first men’s golfer in program history to reach a national postseason event in RSU’s first year as full Division II members. He will compete against golfers from St. Mary’s, Colorado – Colorado Springs, Midwestern State, St. Edward’s, Cameron, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado Christian, Dallas Baptist, Colorado State – Pueblo, Texas A&M International Colorado Mesa, Regis and Texas A&M Commerce.
