CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State’s Mica Eastin and Hagen Barmasse took home Heartland Conference Women’s and Men’s Golfer of the Week honors as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Eastin, named Co-Golfer of the Week, won individual medalist honors after shooting six-over par 150 in the two-round Midwestern State Invitational at Wichita Falls Country Club. Eastin earned her first individual title of the season as she posted a tournament best 28 pars and the best par four scoring of the two-day event averaging 4.15.
Eastin shot three-over par 75 in both rounds of tournament loaded with Heartland Conference opponents as the Hillcats finished tied for ninth in the 20 team field. The Carrollton, Texas native tied Dallas Baptist’s Addison Mitchell with a 150 score at the Midwestern State Invitational and shares Golfer of the Week honors with the DBU Patriot. The conference golfer of the week award is the first of Eastin’s career as a Hillcat.
Barmasse earned his fourth career Heartland Conference Golfer of the Week honor finishing tied for third at the Dave Falconer Classic in Danville, Ark. earlier this week. The Houston, Texas native finished four strokes out of first place after carding rounds of 72 and 71 for a two-round total of 143. RSU finished tied for eighth as a team after improving by eight strokes in the second round of the 16 team field.
Rogers State men’s golf returns to competition on March 27-28 in Austin, Texas at the St. Edward’s Invitational held at Onion Creek Golf Club. The Hillcat women host the Hillcat Classic on March 20-21 at Bailey Ranch Golf Club in Owasso, Okla.
