Sachs, Belmear prevail in tight OJGT battles, 14-year-old makes two aces

Wesley Sachs of Edmond closed with a 69 Sunday to edge Lane Wallace, who blistered the course with a 65 Saturday but fell back with a 77 to finish a shot back in the Lake Hefner Spring Classic on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour.

Mitchell Ross of Norman shot 1-under 143 to take third place.

Faith Belmear of Owasso opened with a 68 and held on for a one-shot victory over Madison Smith of Moore in the girls division. Natalie Gough of Bixby was six shots back in third. Complete results are below.

In the category of Wow, 14-year-old Sarah Sherrard, an eighth grader from Moore, aced the third hole on Lake Hefner South, a 120-yard par-3, in the practice round., then had a second hole-in-one on the par-3 seventh hole from 155 yards on Sunday. Yes Sarah, you just made tens of thousands of golfers who have been at it for decades insanely jealous. Congratulations on the dual aces!
