Sadeghy tied for 14th, but Cowgirls off to slow start in Albuquerque Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Alexis Sadeghy led the Oklahoma State women’s golf team with four birdies in the opening round of the NCAA Albuquerque Regional, which has the junior tied for 14th place at 1-over 73 after 18 holes.

As a team, the Cowgirls are in 11th place at 16-over 304 with two rounds to play at the UNM Championship Course. Pepperdine is atop the leaderboard at 1-under 287, while North Carolina State’s Laura Kowohl shot a 3-under 69 to lead all individuals.

The low six teams and the low three individuals not on those teams at each of the four NCAA Regional sites (for a total of 24 teams and 12 individuals) advance to the national championships, which are being hosted at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois on May 19-24.

Cowgirls Kenzie Neisen, Maddie McCrary and Chih-Min Chen are all tied for 49th place at 5-over 77. Linnea Johansson shot a 6-over 78.

The Cowgirls will be back on the course on Tuesday for round two beginning at 8:30 a.m. Central. Live scoring can be found at
