EDMOND, Okla. – Southern Nazarene’s Rhett Bechtel will head into the fall season with plenty of confidence after he won the Oklahoma/Rose Creek Collegiate Open.

Bechtel finished seven strokes ahead of Arkansas-Monticello’s Joseph Lemieux at 9-under par. Those two were the only two to finish under par.

The junior to be in the fall, opened the tournament with an 8-under 64 to start the tournament and followed that with a 70 the next day to get to 10-under par through the first two rounds. He finished with a 73 to cap a 207.

SNU opens the fall season Sept. 11-12 at the GAC Preview, a tournament Bechtel finished second at last year, on Lake Hefner’s North Course.
