RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (July 13, 2016) – The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced groupings and starting times for the first two rounds of the 2016 U.S. Girlsâ€™ Junior Championship, Monday (July 18) and Tuesday (July 19) at 6,406-yard, par-73 The Ridgewood Country Club.
The U.S. Girlsâ€™ Junior consists of 36 holes of stroke play on July 18 and 19, after which the field will be reduced to the low 64 scorers. There will then be six rounds of match play, starting Wednesday, July 20. The championship is scheduled to conclude with a 36-hole final on Saturday, July 23.
Both Yujeong Son and Kaitlin Milligan of Norman have qualified for the event for the second consecutive year. Son reached the round of 16 in 2015. Both have afternoon tee times Monday beginning on hole 10.
Meanwhile, Austin Eckroat of Edmond will represent the state in the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at 7,326-yard, par-72 The Honors Course, which begins Monday in Ooltawah, Tenn.
The U.S. Junior Amateur consists of 36 holes of stroke play on July 18 and 19, after which the 156-player field will be reduced to the low 64 scorers. There will be six rounds of match play at The Honors Course, starting July 20. The quarterfinals and semifinals are slated for Friday, July 22. The championship is scheduled to conclude with a 36-hole final on Saturday, July 23, starting at 8 a.m. EDT.
