Son rolls into third round of U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship

PARAMUS, N.J. – Two-time WOGA state amateur champion and Class 6A medalist Yejeong Son of Norman rolled into the third round of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship Thursday morning with a 6 and 5 rout of Lois Kay Go of the Phillipines.

Son reached the second round with a 1 up victory over U.S. Curtis Cup player Mika Liu of Beverly Hills, Calif., on Wednesday.

In her match with Kay Go, Son was tied through five holes, then won six of the next eight holes to reach the third round, which will be held Thursday afternoon.
