LA QUINTA, Calif. — Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team will be back in action this week when it begins play at The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab at PGA WEST’s Greg Norman Course.
The top-ranked Cowboys will be one of 15 teams in action at the par-71, 7,100-yard layout. The event will consist of 54 holes contested over three days with 18 taking place each day. OSU will begin its first round on Monday at 8:25 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with UC Davis and Stanford.
The Cowboys won The Prestige for the first time last year, edging Pepperdine by a shot after finishing at 1-under 567.
Four of the five players from OSU’s victorious lineup will be back in action this year. Senior Zach Bauchou and junior Viktor Hovland, who both tied for fourth place in 2018, will be joined by senior Hayden Wood and sophomore Matthew Wolff from last year’s squad. Sophomore Austin Eckroat will round out the starting five.
Freshman Aman Gupta will compete individually at the event.
Head coach Alan Bratton’s squad is coming off a 10-shot victory in its spring opener at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii.
Wolff earned his fourth victory in a row for the Cowboys in Hawaii, which stands as the school mark for most consecutive wins in a season and is the most-ever by an OSU sophomore. Additionally, he is tied with five other players for the most wins by a Cowboy in a season.
