Travis, Golf Oklahoma honored at ING Awards

Golf Louisiana Style! 15 courses by designers including Hal Sutton, David Toms and Pete Dye. After your round, you’ll find our “Sportsman’s Paradise” has so much more to offer with great food, fishing, music and gaming.

The merger of golf and technology reached a new dimension at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. Ed Travis, our award-winning equipment writer, has already begun posting a series of updates on the new and improved products on his blog on this site and we’ll be letting you in on what we saw as the week goes on.

Speaking of Ed Travis, his story Putters Through Time won first place in the equipment writing category of the 22nd annual International Network of Golf Media Awards program held at the PGA Show. The story appeared in the 2013 Oct.-Nov. issue of Golf Oklahoma. Travis’ equipment stories in Golf Oklahoma have now won first place in this national contest in two of the past four years.

Travis examines all the new drivers out for 2015 in a story for the upcoming Travel and Directory Issue of Golf Oklahoma. Look for that in pro shops in early February or sign up for home or digital delivery on our website.

Golf Oklahoma was also honored with Outstanding Achievement Awards in the Publications Category for the 2014 April-May issue and in Profile Writing for a story I wrote in that issue on Oklahoma State golfers Jordan Niebrugge, Wyndham Clark, coach Alan Bratton and former Cowboy Chris Tidland. Here is a complete list of award winners.
