TU women finish third in Sunflower invitational

Manhattan, Kansas –– Sophomore Antonia Von Wnuck led the Tulsa women’s golf team to a third-place at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational on Tuesday. Von Wnuck placed third in the individual race as well.
 
The Hurricane carded a final round 316 and finished with a 941 total behind Kansas (910) and Kansas State (926). Arkansas State (944) and Oral Roberts (954) rounded out the top-five teams.
 
Von Wnuck carded a final round 77 and finished with a 14-over par score of 230 at the tough Colbert Hills Golf Course. The course was tough on the field as no golfers broke par for the 54 holes.
 
Tulsa senior Kayla Riede turned in a round of 79 today for a 237 total and 17th place, while fellow senior Karson Bizzell finished in 22nd place with a 54-hole total of 239. Junior Franziska Voellinger finished in 26th place with a score of 241 and sophomore Alex Haun placed 43rd overall with a score of 247.
 
Individually, Kansas’ Meghan Potee captured medalist honors with an 8-over par score of 224.
 
Tulsa is back in action October 7-9 at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
