Tulsa finishes 12th at Windon Memorial

Glencoe, Ill. –– The Tulsa men’s golf team finished in 12th place at the Windon Memorial Monday as the Hurricane carded a final round 290 for an 879 total at the par 71 Lake Shore Country Club.
 
Matthew Marquez was Tulsa’s top finisher with a score of 220 for 44th place, while Francisco Yanez and true freshman Jack Knoesel finished one stroke back at 221 to tie for 50th place. Knoesel turned in a final round 73, while Yanez shot a score of 75. Sam Humphreys carded a final round 73 to finish the 54 holes in 54th place with a score of 222.
 
Freshman Marc Kepka, although finishing in 72nd place with a total score of 230, had the best round of the day for the Hurricane with  a one-under par 70.
 
Purdue led the event from start to finish with a final score of 22-under par 830, and finishing 15 strokes ahead of second-place Michigan. Purdue’s Brian Carlson claimed medalist honors with a six-under par score of 207.

Tulsa will be in action next at the Bayou City Collegiate, October 12-13, in Humble, Texas.
