Tulsa wins UAB Fall beach Bash

Mobile, Ala. –– Sophomore Alex Haun finished in third place and led the Tulsa Golden Hurricane women golfers to a first place performance at the 36-hole UAB Fall Beach Bash on Tuesday at the par-72 Lakes to Marsh Golf Course. Tulsa closed out the fall campaign with a rounds of 297-293 for a 590 total for the team victory.
 
Haun carded a final round 1-under par 71 and moved up seven spots to finish in a three-way tie for third place with a 1-over par total score  of 145. Tulsa junior Franziska Voellinger finished one stroke behind Haun with a 146 total after today’s even-par round of 72.
 
Tulsa sophomore Antonia Von Wnuck finished in 13th place, while senior Karson Bizzell placed 18th overall. Von Wnuck had a 36-hole total of five-over par 149, while Bizzell finished with a total of 150. Senior Kayla Riede placed 47th with a score of 159.
 
Southern Miss’ Brandi Rodriguez won a playoff with Austin Peay’s Tala Mumford for individual medalist honors. The pair forced the playoff with  an even-par 144 score after 36 holes.
 
Tulsa will begin the spring season at the Westbrook Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, in Peoria, Arizona, Feb. 23-24.
