Tulsa women fifth, ORU 12th in Cowgirl Classic

PHOENIX, Ariz. – In sixth after the first round, the Oral Roberts University women’s golf team struggled in the second round on Monday, finishing the day in 12th place out of 20 teams at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic  with a score of 622 (303-319). New Mexico State leads the field at 593 (297-296). Tulsa fell from third to fifth in the second round.

ORU’s Alheli Moreno finished the day tied for 22nd at 152 (74-78), while Shinwoo Lee’s 154 (76-78) put her in a tie for 35th.

Alejandra Acosta put together rounds of 77 and 79 (156) and is tied for 46th, while Paty Torres finished fourth on the team and is tied for 74th at 161 (76-85). Paola Aviles did not record a score in the first round, but shot 84 in round two.

The third and final round will be contested Tuesday morning.
