Tulsa women take third at Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

Maricopa, Ariz. –– The Tulsa women’s golf team finished in third-place at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded a final round 300 and finished with a 901 total at the par-72 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. 

Antonia Von Wnuck moved up five spots to fifth place on the final day of play at the Southern Dunes Golf Club course as she carded a final round 73 for a 5-over par score of 221 on Tuesday. Tulsa freshman Nadia Majidizadeh placed in a three-way tie for sixth place with a total score of 223 after turning in a round of 76. Karson Bizzell was Tulsa’s third golfer to place among the top-10 after turning in Tulsa’s best individual round of the day with a 72 for 10th place with a 54-hole total of 225.
 
Tulsa’s Franziska Voellinger placed 39th overall with a 232 total after a final-round 79, while Kayla Riede finished in 66th place at 239.
 
New Mexico State led from start to finish with a total score of 887, followed by second-place Santa Clara (896), Tulsa and Boise State (901) and Lamar (903) rounding out the top-5 teams.
 
Tulsa will play next at the Conference USA Championship, April 21-23, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
