U.S. Women’s Mid-Am qualifier to be held Aug. 28 at Cedar Ridge

Qualifying for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship will be held at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow on August 28.  This is one of approximately 25 18-hole qualifiers for the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship that will be played from October 5-10 at Biltmore Forest Country Club in Asheville, NC.

Entries for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship must be received by the United States Golf Association by August 7.   The cost is $125 to enter.  The championship is for women amateurs age 25 or older by October 5, with a Handicap Index not exceeding 9.4.

Eighteen-hole qualifiers will be held nationwide from August 26 – September 9, with spots awarded at each site to fill the championship field of 130 players.  The championship format will be two rounds of stroke play, with the low 64 scorers advancing to single-elimination match play.

The Women’s Mid-Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
