DALLAS – The University of Central Oklahoma women’s golf team concluded the fall portion of its season with a sixth-place finish at the Dallas Baptist Classic on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Dallas.
The Bronchos began the day in sixth, after playing 36 holes on Monday. UCO shot a 305 in Tuesday’s final round to finish the tournament at 911. Dallas Baptist won the tournament with a three-round team score of 870.
Marla Souvannasing finished 15th individually. The junior was in sixth place herself after Monday, but faltered in the final round, slipping to a 8-over 79. Souvannasing finished the tournament with a 225 (75-71-79).
Grace Shin was just behind Souvannasing at 18th-place. Shin shot a 226 (74-77-75). Sydney Roberts tied for 25th after shooting a 229 (76-79-74).
Anna Pool’s 233 put her in a tie for 34th. Pool shot rounds of 79, 75, and 79. Makena Mucciaccio shot rounds of 81, 79, and 77 to finish with a 237 and in a tie for 44th.
Central Oklahoma opens the spring season in February at the St. Edward’s Invite.
Rogers State senior Mica Eastin shot a final round 2-under 70 and moved up to 11th place as the Hillcats finished ninth.
The Hillcats ended with a round of 316 today to go with scores of 318 and 308 yesterday for the 54-hole team total of 942 at the 5,991-yard, par-72 course.
Eastin, posted a three-round score of 7-over-par 223 after rounds of 75-78 Monday. Kina Boone placed 34th overall and second for the Hillcats at 17-over-par 233 for her three rounds. Freshman Sydney Murray shot 240, Elizabeth McCloskey, a redshirt sophomore from McKinney, Texas, shot 247 and sophomore Stirling Phillips shot 256.
Host Dallas Baptist won the team title by 16 shots over Tarleton State. The Patriots posted a team score of 870. DBU’s Ann Parmerter won the individual title with a 54-hole score of 15-under-par 201 to win by 13 strokes. She shot a second round 7-under-par 65 yesterday.
Sophomore Kate Goodwin led Oklahoma Christian on the final day , firing a 4-over-76 as OC finished in 13th place.
OC’s top finisher was freshman Abigail Rigsby, who shot a final-round 78 to close at 232, tied for 30th in the 86-woman field. Sophomore Elizabeth Freeman posted a 79 and tied for 44th at 237, while Goodwin tied for 52nd at 241.
Senior Allison Sell shot an 85 on Tuesday and tied for 61st at 245, and freshman Ashton Nemecek finished 73rd at 251 after posting a final-round 86.
