UCO women grab second, Kline shines for men

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (April 5) – Daniela Martinez shot a final-round 74 to lead Central Oklahoma to a runner-up finish in the Henderson State Southern Bancorp Invitational here Tuesday.



The Bronchos closed with a 306 to finish the two-day, 36-hole event with a 615 total at the 5,892-yard, par-72 Big Creek Country Club.  Arkansas Tech won the 12-team tourney with a 598 total, while Missouri Western was 23 shots behind UCO in third.

 

Martinez paced the Bronchos with her 2-over 74.  Grace Shin added a 76, while Marla Souvannasing shot 77, Makena Mucciaccio 79 and Camilla Schou 80.

 

UCO had three individuals finished in the top six, with Martinez coming in third, Shin fourth and Souvannasing tied for sixth.

 

The Bronchos return to action at the Arkansas Tech Invitational in Russellville, Ark. next Monday and Tuesday.

 

 

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (April 5) – Central Oklahoma’s Eric Kline shot a second straight under-par round to finish among the individual leaders in the Buccaneer Invitational here Tuesday.

 

Kline fired a 3-under-par 68 at the 6,733-yard, par-71 Normandy Shores Golf Club for a two-day, 54-hole total of three-under 210 in tying for third in the medalist race.  The senior opened with a four-over 75 Monday morning before shooting 67-68 in the final two rounds.

 

The Bronchos came in 13th in the 16-team tourney with an 877 total after shooting a closing 296.  Nova Southeastern State took the team title with an 846 total, four shots ahead of Lynn.



Eli Armstrong shot 75 for UCO, while Cody Troutman added 76, Logan Gray 77 and Russ Purser 78.

 

The Bronchos go to Bolivar, Mo. next Monday and Tuesday for the Southwest Baptist Invitational.
