KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 1) – Central Oklahoma’s Lindsey Bensch has been named Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

The senior from Broken Arrow won the first tournament of her career Tuesday with a two-stroke victory in the Fort Hays State Invitational in Hays, Kan.

Bensch opened with a 76 before closing with a one-over-par 72 to finish with a 148 total while competing as an individual medalist for UCO.

The Bronchos won their third straight team title, cruising to a 21-stroke victory.

Bensch is the third straight UCO player to earn the weekly award, following sister Katie Bensch and Marla Souvannasing.

The Bronchos continue the fall campaign Monday and Tuesday when they host the UCO/RCB Bank Classic at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
