Unleash the McCracken! Tulsa takes third at River Landing Intercollegiate

Wallace, NC – The Tulsa men’s golf team turned in the best round of the day with a 4-under par score of 284 and finished in third-place at the River Landing Intercollegiate on Saturday. Tulsa finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 873, while senior Logan McCracken also had the best individual round of the day at the par-72 River Course with a 6-under par 66 as he moved up from 12th place to second place with a 3-under par 213 total score.

Tulsa ended the tournament five strokes behind team champion East Carolina’s score of 868 and one stroke behind second-place VCU’s total of 872. Maryland placed fourth with a score of 880, while Campbell and Winthrop tied or fifth place in the 10-team field with scored of 890.
 
In addition to McCracken, the Hurricane had three more golfers finish among the top-20 individually. Junior Matt Mabrey also had an under-par score on Saturday with a  69 and finished the tournament with at 4 220. Junior Colton Staggs placed 19th overall, one stroke behind Mabrey, with a 221 total, while senior Mark Mumford had a 220 score for 20th place. Staggs turned in a round of 74 today, while Mumford shot 76 for his final round.
 
Tulsa freshman Matthew Marquez finished in 37th place with a final score of 230 after turning in a score or 75 on Saturday.
 
Tulsa will be back in action at the Conference USA Championships, April 27-29, at the Oak Tree Country Club – East Course in Edmond, Oklahoma.
