South Korea’s Inbee Park finished -12 to capture her fifth victory of 2013. She defeated her best friend So Yeon Ryu in a sudden-death playoff. Park held the lead by overcoming a four-stroke deficit on Sunday. Co-leader So Yeon Ryu forced a playoff by sinking a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole.
This is Park’s second consecutive win on the heels of a major championship victory at the Wegmans LPGA Championship two weeks ago. Park will enter next week’s U.S. Women’s Open after winning the first two majors of the season putting her on track to go in the history books as the second player in Tour history to win the first three majors of the season.
