Patrick West shot sensational rounds of 65-66 to finish at 13-under 131 and run away with the 50th Tulsa City Championship run by the Tulsa Golf Association Sunday at LaFortune Park Golf Course.

West, who had earned at least a share of second place twice previously, won by five shots over Tyler Hunt, who shot 67-69 to finish at 8-under, while Hagen Barmasse what 69-70 to take third at 5-under.

The 65 was a competitive course record at LaFortune Park and included eight birdies against one bogey. West said he made a lot of long putts, including a 12-footer for par on the final hole which he knew would be a personal best for him. It was only later he learned it was a course record.

His Sunday round included a couple of bogeys, but he still was 2-under before catching fire on the final three holes, making birdie on the difficult par-4 16th, flying a shot in from 110 yards for eagle on the par-4 17th, then capping the round with a birdie on the par-5 18th.

West played high school golf at Booker T. Washington, but did not play collegiately while graduating from Oklahoma State with a degree in electrical engineering in 2011. He works for Southwestern Power Administration and said the Tulsa City Championship was the biggest win of his amateur career. The 26-year-old finished runnerup in the event in 2012 and 2013.

Todd Ratffensperger won the Senior Championship Flight with rounds of 68-71 to finish at 5-under, two shots ahead of Steve Hughes, 69-72. Complete results are below. More than 70 players competed in the event which began in 1966.
