Although needed improvements for the facilities at Tulsa’s city-owned golf courses failed to make it on today’s Vision vote, golfers should be aware that a yes vote on the fourth proposition will help fund improvements at Tulsa County-owned golf courses LaFortune Park and South Lakes.

If passed, the county vote will allow for the rebuilding of the old, beat up and outdated greens on the par-3 course at LaFortune Park with new Bermuda greens, replacing the lights on the par-3 and fixing the leaking ponds at South Lakes. It also includes money to replace the perimeter fence, close and demolish the pool and add a splash pad and renovate the exercise court.

Pat McCrate, director of golf for the county courses, said the par-3 project would happen this summer if the vote is yes.

Anyone in favor of those improvements should vote yes today on the county proposition.
