Youngblood, Sadeghy to meet for WOGA State Amateur championship

Sydney Youngblood of Durant defeated fellow four-time high school champion Megan Blonien of Altus 5 and 4 in the semi-finals of the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship at Oak Tree National Wednesday.

Youngblood, who will be a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma, advanced to the championship match against low qualifier Alexis Sadeghy of Edmond and Oklahoma State, who edged Marla Souvannasing of Tulsa and the University of Central Oklahoma 5 and 4 in the other semifinal.

Youngblood had earlier nipped ShaeBug Scarberry of Purcell 1 up in the quarterfinals, while Sadeghy had to go 19 holes to get past Melissa Eldredge of Eufaula and Oklahoma City University

The two will meet in the championship match around 9 a.m. Thursday. Spectators are welcome.
