Cameron’s Hrnciar named South Central Region Coach of the Year
SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – The Golf Coaches Association of American in conjunction with Golf Pride Grips announced on Monday that head coach Jerry Hrnciar would be honored as the South Central Region’s Coach of the Year.
Hrnciar a member of the 2012 GCAA Hall of Fame, guided the Aggies to the top ranking in the South Central Region and took home a Lone Star Conference record tenth league title in men’s golf this last season. The LSC championship was a repeat honor and the Aggies have won three out of the last four titles.
The Aggies also completed the season with a 293.08 per round average and ranked first in the region heading into the summer on GolfStat.com.
Hrnciar hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down after over 40 years at the helm of the CU men’s golf program. He was named LSC Coach of the Year for the third year in a row in the league’s 2015 postseason awards; since 1990, the honor was his seventh overall.
In 10 tournaments entered, Cameron won three team titles during the regular season, and placed a top-3 finish in four other events.
