Cowgirl golfer Linnea Johansson earns WGCA All-America honor
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women’s golfer Linnea Johansson was named Honorable Mention All-America by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
This season, Johansson earned her second straight All-Big 12, All-Big 12 Tournament and Academic All-Big 12 honors. She closed out her standout junior season with a 27th place finish at the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Oregon.
Her season stroke average of 72.74 is the second best in school history, topped only by Caroline Hedwall’s NCAA individual title season of 2010 (71.14).
Johansson tallied six top-10 finishes, including ninth place finishes at both the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA Shoal Creek Regional. Her best finish – tied for second at the SMU/DAC Invite – helped the Cowgirls win that event for a second straight season.
Under Johansson’s leadership, the Cowgirls tied a school record with four straight event wins this season, and advanced to the final round of stroke play at the NCAA Championship this week.
