Cowgirls open ICON Invitational on Monday

HUMBLE, Texas – Oklahoma State women’s golf finished the first 36 holes of the ICON Invitational 8-under and in third place at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas after the first two rounds on Monday.

The Cowgirls shot rounds of 285 and 283 at the par-72, 6,247-yard layout.

The University of Southern California took an early lead and finished the day 25-under and in first place. Illinois shot a 280 in the second round to finish 9-under and in second place.

Maddison Hinson-Tolchard, Clemence Martin and Han-Hsuan Yu led the Cowgirls and will start the final round 3-under and tied for 7th place. Han-Hsuan Yu shot a tournament best 12 birdies.

Isabella Fierro shot par in the first round and finished 1-over and tied for 23rd. Lianna Bailey shot 3-over and tied for 32nd.

The final round will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com and the team’s social media as it becomes available.
