Donovan wins South Central Senior PGA Professional at Dornick Hills, Wilcoxen, Tidland will join him at nationals
Scott Donovan of The Greens Country Club shot rounds of 70-71 for a 1-over 141 total to win the South Central Senior PGA Professional Championship Tuesday at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore.
Donavan finished a shot ahead of Brent Wilcoxen of South Lakes Golf Course in Jenks and three clear of Chris Tidland of Stillwater Country Club. All three will qualify for the national PGA Senior Professional Championship Oct. 13-16 at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M.
There they can earn spots in the 2023 Kitchenaid Senior PGA Championship. Two other section golfers, Tracy Phillips of Tulsa and Tim Fleming of Oklahoma City, are exempt into the event in New Mexico.
Wilcoxen shot the only round under par on the recently renovated Perry Maxwell layout with new greens courtesy of Tom Doak by opening with a 69 Monday and added a 73 Tuesday to finish at 2-over. Tidland shot 73-71.
