Ryder Cowan and Bryant Polhill, teammates at Oklahoma Christian School and junior golf rivals, became two of the first Division I golf signees of the early signing period Wednesday when they accepted offers from Oklahoma and Kansas State, respectively.

Bratton signs decorated trio to bolster Cowboys
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf program enhanced its roster with a trio of highly-decorated prep standouts as Johnnie Clark, Gaven Lane and Preston Stout all signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Cowboys next season.
“This class is a great combination of talent, athleticism, experience and upside. We could not be more excited to have these three join our program. They will make an immediate impact and can be leaders for us for years to come,” OSU head coach Alan Bratton said.

Chaney, two freshmen to join Sooners
NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head women’s golf coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell announced the signing of one transfer and two incoming freshman during the early signing period on Thursday.
The Sooners welcome Emily (Tengteng) Hun, Reagan Chaney and Holly McLean to Norman.

Front nine at Idabel Country Club “demolished” by F-4 tornado

The front nine of Idabel Country Club could be closed for up to a year after taking a direct hit from the F-4 tornado that roared through the southeastern Oklahoma town of 7,000 residents Friday evening, damaging or destroying at least 185 buildings and leaving dozens of residents homeless.
Lee Ardwin, course superintendent who has worked in various maintenance capacities at the course for over 20 years, said that at least 700 trees were toppled or ripped apart as the tornado advanced through the course. The clubhouse was impacted but not directly as were the cart barns.
