Hole It On The River a success
Michael Boyd, director of golf at The Club at Indian Springs, reports that more than $9,000 was raised at the club’s recent Hole It On The River fundraiser, enough to buy three sets of Start New at Golf equipment for local schools. “We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce golf to students all over our city,” Boyd said. “Our SNAG in schools program is getting underway this year with full integration at Union and looking to expand each year. To help us reach the most kids and give each student the best experience we are looking for volunteers who love golf, love kids, and have time. “
Anyone wishing to help teach golf through SNAG to elementary school students in the Union school district should contact Boyd at mboyd@indianspringsclub.com. A training session is scheduled Oct. 13 at the Union Ninth Grade Center.
Hole It On The River included a chance for the public to play the course as well as a long drive exhibition by former world champion Bobby Wilson.
