The Compliance Solutions Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour will be moving from Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman to The Patriot Golf Club in Owasso beginning with the 2025 event, it was confirmed today by the PGA Tour.

The timing of the announcement was not intended to come out just prior to the 2024 Compliance Solutions Championship scheduled June 17-23 at Jimmie Austin OU. Offcials at Jimmie Austin OU found out Monday and Sam Humphreys of the Sports Animal in Oklahoma City and the 73rd Hole Podcast reported it on the air and on X on Tuesday.

Following is the statement from the Korn Ferry Tour:

“The Korn Ferry Tour is grateful for the hospitality from the University of Oklahoma and Jimmie Austin Golf Club’s staff and membership, as well as the support of the entire Norman community.

“Beginning in 2025, we have made the decision to transition the tournament to a televised Korn Ferry Tour Finals event. The move will elevate the Compliance Solutions Championship’s role in identifying the top 30 players to advance to the PGA TOUR, while continuing to positively engage and impact our fans and community in Oklahoma and beyond.

“The event’s transition to The Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Oklahoma will help expand the growing relationship between the PGA TOUR, the Compliance Solutions Championship and Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization headquartered in Owasso, while continuing the tournament’s relationship with – and support of – AutismOklahoma.

“We look forward to a great week at Jimmie Austin Golf Club and will share more information about the future of the Compliance Solutions Championship and the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour schedule later this year.”

Officials at Jimmie Austin OU, while obviously disappointed in the timing and substance of the annoucnement, did not want to speak on the record today other than to say they are preparing to host a great event next week.

Likewise Dan Rooney, founder of the Folds of Honor, and Compliance Solutions CEO Mark Lammert deferred to the official statement at this time.

The driving force behind the announcement was the move to the fall as one of the four Finals events which are televised. The Patriot, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 2010, is also the home of the Folds of Honor Foundation. The Finals is a series of four events which in 2023 began in late August and concluded with the Korn Ferry Tour Championship Oct. 5-8. One of those four events will have to move to accommodate the Compliance Solutions Championship taking its spot.

The original agreement with Jimmie Austin and both the Korn Ferry Tour/PGA Tour and the title sponsor was for the event to run five years. The first event was held in 2023. Some contracts were nullified when Lammert fired the original event operator Anera Sports after one year and replaced them with HNS Sports out of Columbus, Ohio.

The Folds of Honor became one of the two official charities of the event along with AutismOklahoma for the 2024 event.

While The Patriot is unquestionably a stunning venue, it has built-in logistical challenges for spectators that the KFT and HNS officials will address in the coming weeks.
