OBU women in fourth at home event at John Conrad

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – After one round of play Monday at the OBU Fall Invite, Oklahoma Baptist women’s golf sits in fourth place. The Lady Bison posted 314 as a team, their best score of the fall by a full 15 strokes, at John Conrad Golf Course. OBU is five shots behind third-place Cameron, and 15 strokes behind Redlands and Texas A&M — Commerce for the lead.

Freshman Michelle Carr paced OBU with a five-over 77, just four strokes from the low round of the day. Carr backed up a strong 39 on the front with a 38 on the back nine, and currently sits tied for 11th place.

Senior Emma Williams finished in 78 strokes, four better than her previous season low, and is T15 with one round left to play. Elly Baze shot 79, her second straight round to break 80, and is tied for 17th individually.

Kadrian Shelton bounced back from a 41 on the front nine to shoot 39 on the back for an 80 total, and is tied for 21st place. Shannen Stewart shot 87 and is in a tie for 50th.

Five Lady Bison played as individuals, led by freshman Olivia Klefsaas with an 81. Paige Neidy sits right behind Klefsaas at 82.

Freshman Grace Johnson shot 85 in her first collegiate round. Isabella Scarinzi finished in 91 strokes, and Sidney Stover shot 95 in her first tournament of the fall.

Play will wrap up Tuesday afternoon with a final 18 holes at John Conrad.
