The Patriot braces for KFT onslaught as Compliance Solutions Championship begins Thursday

By Ken MacLeod

With intermittent storms predicted Wednesday through Saturday, the second playing of the Compliance Solutions Championship at The Patriot could be in for a flood of low scoring exceeding even last year’s record 33-under-par performance by Adrien Dumont de Chassart.

Rain or shine, the tournament, now in its fourth year overall with the first two at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course in Norman, gets under way Thursday with a purse of $1,500,000 and a winner’s share of $275,000.

This is the third of four playoff events on the Korn Ferry Tour. Among the field of 93 players, the top 60 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list following this event will advance to the Korn Ferry Tour Championship the following week at The Federal Club in Glen Allen, Va, The top 20 players there will earn PGA Tour membership for 2027. Seven players have already wrapped up that status with their play through the summer.

Tickets for the event are available Thursday through Sunday for $10 and are available at www.compliancesolutionschampionship.com.

One Oklahoman is assured of making the field for the final week and that is former Sooner Logan McAllister of Oklahoma City. The Oak Tree National member is ranked 31st with seven top-25 finishes in 2026 despite making the cut just 11 times in 22 events. That is reflective of the nature of the tour, where golfers have to be prepared to go low each week and sometimes 36-hole totals of 6-under don’t make the weekend.

2025 Champion Adrien Dumont de Chassart with his girlfriend Katie Underwood.

Former Oklahoma State University golfer Rahan Thomas, who now also makes his home in Edmond and plays out of Oak Tree National, comes into the event needing to move up from 63rd on the points list into the top 60 to make the finals.

Tulsan Will Sides has a bigger hill to climb. He has played well since joining the tour at the conclusion of his senior season at Southern Methodist, making 8 of 10 cuts and finishing four times in the top 25 and twice in the top 10. That’s good for 82nd on the points list, but he’ll likely need a top five finish this week to advance to the finals.

Facing even longer odds are former OSU golfer Kevin Dougherty (84th) and rookie Jase Summy out of Oklahoma, who also in a compressed time frame has moved into the top 100 at 91. He has earned a full year of KFT play in 2027 at the worst.

The tournament will be shown on Golf Channel from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Official charities for the event are the Folds of Honor, which is based at The Patriot, and Autism Oklahoma.

The Patriot will play as a par-70 of 7,120 yards. Although members play the fourth hole and 16th holes as par-5s, they will both be par-4s for the tournament. The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. as a player-friendly design, is not an overwhelming test for players at this level.

Dumont de Chassart opened the 2025 event with consecutive rounds of 61 to establish a new KFT 36-hole scoring record of 20-under. He continued the onslaught with a weekend of 64-65 to roll to a seven-shot victory. That earned him a promotion to the PGA Tour, where this year he made 12 of 21 cuts and finished 124th in the FedEx Cup standings. He’ll be trying to play his way into the top 100 this fall to keep his card.
