Tulsa in 11th at Bayou City Collegiate

Pearland, Texas –– The Tulsa men’s golf team is in 11th place following the first day of competition at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, while carding rounds of 312-296 for a 608 total at the par-72 Golfcrest Country Club. Tulsa’s Francisco Yanez is in 21st place after turning in rounds of 73-75 for a 148 total on Monday.
 
Tulsa freshman Jack Knoesel is in 28th place after carding rounds of 77 and a team-best 72 for a 149 total. Sam Humphreys, a red-shirt freshman, is in 42nd place with a 152 score, after turning in rounds of 78 and 74.
 
Preston Crawford is in 74th place with a 161 total, while Matthew Marquez is in 81st place with a score of 167.
 
North Texas sits in first place at 576 after 36 holes and eight strokes ahead of second-place Lamar (584). Kansas (590), Texas State (592) and Houston (593) round out the top-5 teams, while McNeese State’s Robert MacIntyre’s six-under par total of 138 is good for first place.
 
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
