Junior golfers have two new events in the area to compete in this summer. There is the previously announced Talor Gooch Foundation Junior Championship July 24-27 at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City. Also just across the border in Joplin, Mo., will be the Satterlee Plumbing Heat and Air event Aug. 7-11 at Twin Hills Country Club.

There will be a local qualifier for participants Monday, July 31st. Twin Hills will offer 3 spots into the event as exemptions. Two boys spots and one girl spot.  To get involved and or sign up for sponsorships or the Junior-Am please call 918-624-1611 or email Lance atl.allen@twinhillsgolf.net

That is the same Lance Allen who ran Forest Ridge Golf Club in Tulsa for many years before moving to Twin Hills in 2022.  This is a first-year event for Twin Hills and Allen hopes many entrants from Oklahoma will help fill the field.

New golf app sponsored by Bo Van Pelt

A group including Tulsa-based PGA Tour golfer Bo Van Pelt has developed a new golf app called Rabbit Cards that is the first golf game to use Shotlink data. Once downloaded, golfers compete to guess which of three golfers will be closest to the hole on par-3 holes and how many total birdies will be made on the par-3s. Golfers compete for prizes provided thus far by Callaway and Stitch. Go to the App Store today and you can download and play starting with the second round of the John Deere Classic Friday.

It’s called RabbitCards and we are the first free to play golf game that uses Shotlink data.  Players compete for prizes and so far we have Callaway and STITCH on board.  You can go on the App Store and download and play this week.
