Area golfers took best shots at tough U.S. Women’s Open sectional qualifier

A host of current and former Oklahoma State and Oklahoma golfers took aim at elusive berths in the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open in sectional qualifying in Richardson, Texas Thursday. The two spots available in the field of 77 golfers went to Kaitlyn Papp of Austin, Texas, and Amy Ruengmateekhun of Garland, Texas.

Sydney Youngblood of Durant and OU and former Cowgirl Kenzie Neisen led the locals at 150.
