Bauchou snares first Korn Ferry Tour title as playoffs get under way
Former Oklahoma State star Zach Bauchou, who now lives in Edmond and is a member of Oak Tree National, earned his first Korn Ferry Tour win with a final-round 64 to win the Simmons Bank Open presented by the Snedeker Foundation.
The win moved Bauchou up to No. 7 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Points list in the first of four Korn Ferry Tour playoff events. The playoffs continue this week at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship at Ohio State University’s Scarlet Course, then after a week off come to The Patriot in Owasso for the Compliance Solutions Championship.
For Bauchou, who was a starter and second-team All-American for OSU’s powerhouse 2018 NCAA championship team that also included PGA Tour players Viktor Hovland, Matthew Wolf, Austin Eckroat and Kris Ventura with Sam Stevens on the bench, it was his first Korn Ferry Tour title at 29 years, 8 months, 17 days of age, becoming the 16th first-time Korn Ferry Tour winner this season
Bauchou rose to No. 7 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List; the top 20 players on the Points List upon conclusion of the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance will earn PGA TOUR membership for the 2026 season.
It was a solid week for many other players with Oklahoma ties in pursuit of their PGA Tour dreams.

Three players currently just outside the top 120 that will make the field in Owasso and need to have a big week this week are Rhein Gibson of Edmond, (129), Jenks native Brendon Jelley (139) and former Edmond resident Robert Streb (141). All three made the cut in the Simmons Bank Open but didn’t bump their positions up a great deal.
