ELMHURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts sophomore Mike Biata earned men’s Golfer of the Week recognition Wednesday for his 4-under-par 212 performance at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, while Fort Wayne senior Jenna Kurosky nabbed the women’s honor for a 3-over 147 scorecard at the Fort Wayne Spring Classic.

Biata carded back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70 before closing out the 54-hole competition with an even-par 72 during third-round action. Playing on the Ridgepointe Country Club golf course in Jonesboro, Ark., the native of Owasso, Okla., tied for fifth in a field of 74 golfers.

Less-than-ideal weather conditions hounded the Fort Wayne Spring Classic this week, but that did not stop Kurosky. The Mastodon senior shot rounds of 74 and 73 to end the weather-shorten tournament with an average round score of 73.5—a full eight strokes better than her 81.5 season average. Additionally, Kurosky and the Mastodons set program records for the best 18-hole (291) and 36-hole (598) scores ever posted.
