Black, Hong prevail in tight battles in Earlywine Park Fall Challenge

Jace Black of Duncan edged Wyatt King of Edmond in a playoff to win the Earlywine Park Fall Challenge on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour’s fall series sponsored by Talor Gooch. Juliana Hong of Norman won the girls title by three shots over Ivanna Flores of Doral, Fla., and Jaiden Gregston of Duncan.

After playing in perfect conditions Saturday, the field battled a strong wind throughout Sunday’s second round. Black shot a final-round 72 after opening with a 4-under 68, while King shot rounds of 67-73. Both finished the 36 holes a shot ahead of Collin Bond of Norman (70-71) and Harry Satterlee of Joplin, Mo. (68-73). Fifth place was a three-way tie between Grant Gudgel of Stillwater (72-70), Carter Ray of Walters (71-71) and Josh Stuart of Blanchard (74-68),

Hong shot rounds of 72-71 to finish at 1-under 143. Flores (69-77) and Gregston (70-76) tied for second at 2-over. Syrah Javed of Normand (77-79) and Allie Justiz of Arcadia 80-76) were tied for fourth at 156. Complete results are below.
