Corey Burd, the Director of Golf at Bailey Ranch in Owasso, fired a 3-under par 69 at Battle Creek Golf Club Monday to take the lead in the South Central Section Senior PGA Professional Championship.

The top three finishers after the second round today will earn spots in the national 2020 Senior PGA Professional Championship Oct. 15-18 at Port St. Lucie, Fla. The top 35  in that event will earn spots in the 2021 Kitchenaid Senior PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa in May.

Burd has a one-shot lead of Johnny Johnson of the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Tim Fleming of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club and Jim Young of River Oaks CC in Edmond. Fleming is already exempt into the Senior PGA Professional Championship. Complete scores are here.

In the Super Senior Division which does not qualify for a national event, Michael Jonges shot a 5-under 67 and has a one-shot lead over George Glenn at 68.
