California transfer Fang expected to make immediate impact for Cowboys

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team has added Ethan Fang, a transfer from California, to its roster it was announced today by Cowboy head coach Alan Bratton.

“Ethan is a solid player who competes hard and can score his ball in a lot of ways,” Bratton said. “We are excited to add him to the Cowboy family and expect him to make an impact as a leader right away.”

As a freshman this past season for the Golden Bears, Fang was tabbed as a PING All-Region selection as well as an All-Pac 12 second-team selection and a Pac-12 All-Freshman squad pick. The Plano, Texas native competed in 13 stroke play events, tallying a 71.82 stroke average.

Including his first three college starts, Fang finished in the top 20 on seven occasions and also landed in the top 10 four times.

Fang tied for third place at the Pac-12 Championship in addition to sharing ninth place at the Southwestern Invitational. He also tied for eighth place at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate. Fang’s best finish came at the Pauma Valley Invitational where he closed with a 65 to finish at 8-under 205 and as the runner-up to former Cowboy Jonas Baumgartner.

A second-team AJGA All-American in 2022, Fang was ranked No. 3 in the Golfweek Junior rankings and reached the round of 16 at the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur.
