PALOS VERDES, Calif. – Led by freshman newcomer Sara Camarena, the Oklahoma State women’s golf team tied its lowest round of the season and vaulted up the leaderboard in the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Camarena, who arrived on campus less than a month ago, fired a 1-under 70 with six birdies to help the Cowgirls move four spots up the leaderboard into sixth place. As a team, OSU finished the day with a 5-over 289, which matched the team’s second round at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in September for the best 18-holes of the season.

No. 13 Stanford will enter Tuesday’s final round with a six stroke lead over No. 12 UCLA. Cardinal Andrea Lee is 2-under 140 for the tournament, and is three strokes ahead of her nearest challenger with 18 holes to play.

Cowgirl Han-Hsuan Yu had another outstanding day and is tied for ninth after carding a 1-over 72. After two days at the Palos Verdes Golf Club, Yu is a combined 1-under par on the front nine and just 3-over 145 for the event.

Emma Whitaker and Lianna Bailey are both tied for 40th at 10-over 152, while senior Chih-Min Chen is tied for 47th at 11-over 153.
