Cameron charges late to unseat Dallas Baptist in Rattler Invite, NSU finishes sixth

SAN ANTONIO – Cameron turned in its best round of the Rattler Invitational in the final round to take the top spot from Dallas Baptist late at the Dominion Country Club on Tuesday.

The Aggies shot 289 in the final round, improving in each round of the tournament to finish with a 301-293-289—883. CU completed the two days with 161 pars, 42 birdies and two eagles.

Preston Holmes closed with a 67 to finish 10th, while Hamish Murray and Hunter Drotts tied for 11th. Chris Somerfield tied for 19th as the Aggies had four of the top 20. Drotts carded a 73-71-78-222, while Murray shot a 75-73-74—222.

Key Coker of Dallas Baptist and Sangha Park of UT Permian Basin tied for the title on the individual side with a score of -6.

Northeastern State University of Tahlequah finished sixth, led by the 15th place finish of Christian Yanovitch (78-76-70). Carlos Gomez and Ryan Morant tied for 19th, Brett Wilcoxen finished tied for 27th and Gabe Repogle tied for 48th.

Cameron will compete in the Oak Tree Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian in Edmond, on March 13-14.
