Chen ties for eighth, Cowgirls move up in Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. – Oklahoma State’s Chih-Min Chen posted three early birdies to finish in a tie for eighth place at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, which is the junior’s best finish since her freshman season.

Chen carded a 3-over par 71 in the third round and finished the tournament tied for 8th at 5-over 218. As a team, the Cowgirls jumped two spot on the leaderboard to finish at 13th place with a 56-over par 852.

Cowgirl senior Alexis Sadeghy posted a 2-over par in her final round to place tied for 30th overall, while fellow senior Kenzie Neisen tied for 68th place after shooting 4-over par.

Freshman Stephanie Astrup shot an 8-over par final round and finished 78th on the leaderboard. Fellow freshman Emma Whitaker closed her first collegiate event with a 14-over par to finish in 94th place.

The Cowgirls will hit the fairways again on Feb. 18-20 at the All-State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at the English Turn Golf Club in New Orleans.
