Cowboys back in action at Watersound Invitational

PANAMA CITY, Fla. Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team will resume its spring slate this week when it takes part in the Watersound Invitational at Shark’s Tooth Golf Course in Panama City, Fla.

The Cowboys will be one of 12 teams in action at the par-72, 7,246-yard layout. The tournament will consist of 54 holes over three days with 18 being played each day Monday through Wednesday.

Head coach Alan Bratton’s squad is coming off an eighth-place showing in its spring opener at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii. Senior Jonas Baumgartner was OSU’s top finisher, tying for 19th place at 13-under 203.

The Cowboys finished sixth at the Watersound a year ago.

OSU’s starting five will consist of Baumgartner, fifth years Rayhan Thomas and Hazen Newman, freshman Preston Stout and sophomore John Wild.

Freshman Johnnie Clark will compete individually.
