Cowboys finish strong in Timuquana Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team posted the low round of the day on Tuesday at the Timuquana Collegiate to move into a tie for fourth place at Timuquana Country Club.

The Cowboys matched North Florida’s 9-under 279 for the day’s best score, moving them into a tie for the fourth spot. Liberty and Florida tied for the first place at 843, while Virginia was third with an 844 total at the par-72, 6,949-yard layout. The Gators would go on to claim the team title in a playoff.

Florida State’s Vincent Norman clipped OSU’s Eugenio Chacarra for medalist honors, finishing at 13-under 203 and one shot clear of the Cowboy sophomore.

Chacarra posted a bogey-free 68 which included a pair of birdies on each side for matching 34s to finish alone in second place. The showing marked his first top 10 as a Cowboy.

Freshman Brian Stark closed with a 2-under 70 to join Chacarra in the top 10, tying for eighth place at 210. The finish was his best in three stroke play events this season as well.

Sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen posted a closing 72 to finish at even-par 216 and tied for 29th place.

Junior Austin Eckroat fired his low round of the event, carding a 3-under 69 to move into a tie for 49th place at 221.

Sophomore Leo Oyo posted a closing 78 to finish at 226 and tied for 66th.

Freshman Bo Jin competed individually at the event, tying for 19th place after posting a 72 during his third round to finish at 213.
