TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team wrapped up the first day of action at The Clerico in second place at historic Southern Hills Country Club.

The Cowboys were one of six teams in the field to complete both rounds at the par-70, 7,172-yard layout. Play was called for the day due to darkness. Teams were scheduled to complete the second round early Tuesday and then play a final 18 holes, but forecasts call for moderate to heavy rain most of Tuesday morning with the chance of thunderstorms which could delay play.

OSU posted an opening round of 282 before bouncing back with a 4-under 276 to stand at 2-under 558. Auburn was a stroke clear of the Cowboys with its 557 total.

Junior Gaven Lane wrapped up the day in second place with his 4-under total of 136. Lane fired an opening 66 before posting a 70 during the afternoon round. During his opening round, Lane bogeyed the second before moving under par with birdies at the fifth and sixth. He would birdie the ninth to turn in 2-under 33.
