Cowboys tie for fourth at The Prestige
LA QUINTA, Calif.—Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team finished tied for fourth place at The Prestige at PGA WEST after posting an even-par 288 during its third round on Wednesday at the Nicklaus Tournament Course.
The Cowboys finished with a 54-hole total of 843, 21-under par, tying them with LSU at the par-72, 7,204 yard layout. Arizona State won the event with a 31-under total of 833, while Stanford was second at 837 and San Diego State was third at 841.
Stanford’s Maverick McNealy fired a closing 64 to take medalist honors at 15-under 201.
A pair of Cowboys finished in the top 10 with Jordan Niebrugge leading the way. The junior posted a 70 during his third round to come in tied for seventh at 207.
Freshman Kristoffer Ventura claimed sole possession of ninth place at 208 after finishing with a 71.
Sophomore Zachary Olsen’s 72 tied him for 14th place at 210, while sophomore Wyndham Clark tied for 37th place at 219 with a third-round 75.
Freshman Sam Stevens’ 81 tied him for 74th place at 230.
Competing individually, senior Tanner Kesterson tied for 48th place at 222 with a 72 during his final round.
OSU will be back in action on Feb. 27 when it begins play at the John Hayt Intercollegiate in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
